Many Everton fans have been left fuming as a change to one of their fixtures was confirmed by the Goodison Park faithful.
As per the official Twitter page of the Merseyside club, their game away at Chelsea during the festive period has now been changes to a 7:45pm kick-off on Thursday 16th December.
It means that those Toffees supporters who already had travel down to Stamford Bridge for the match organised will have to change plans, while those with work commitments the following day may simply find it impossible to attend.
Nonetheless, it is rare for a Premier League fixture to be scheduled for a Thursday these days, due to European and cup commitments, and a few Blues just found it strange that the top flight decided to schedule it for that day.

Flocking to Twitter, many West Ham United fans have been left buzzing after a transfer development as they target Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Amid new head of recruitment Rob Newman’s search for a back-up option to Michail Antonio, there have been no shortage of names linked.
One of the more recent ones is Lacazette, who could even leave for free in 2022 with his Gunners contract expiring at the end of the season, prompting West Ham to take notice.
90min first lifted the lid on their interest in the Frenchman who scored 17 goals in all competitions last season, with Jeunesfooteux.com now claiming that contact has already been made.
Indeed, they also claim West Ham have ‘already positioned themselves’ to sign Lacazette – who has been described as a ‘big’ player by managar Mikel Arteta.
Flocking to his news, many Irons fans are certainly eager to see their club sign him and end their year-long search for a centre-forward signing.

Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam has said that the third ODI against Australia in the UAE was the turning point. Had Pakistan won that they would have won the series instead of losing it 3-2, he said.”Australia never dominated us, really, and we should have won the series 3-2 rather than the other way round,” Alam said. “Losing the third match was the turning point. It was a nightmare. I never thought that we will lose that one and it will remain in my mind for a long, long time. Had we won that match we would have won 4-1.”Pakistan were cruising in the third ODI in Abu Dhabi after their openers had added 95. However, they collapsed, losing ten wickets for 76 and fell short of Australia’s total of 198 by 27 runs. The victory gave Australia a 2-1 lead in the five-match contest and Michael Clarke scored a hundred in the next game to secure a series win.Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram criticised the team management for resting Umar Gul from the fourth game. “Pakistan cricket has been reeling from problem after problem. Had the team won the series, it would have been a great boost to the game in the country, sadly we lost that chance,” Akram said. “I fail to understand why you rest your in-form bowler. Pakistan was 2-1 behind, not in front, and only a winning team can afford to have a rotation policy.”Akram also felt that captaincy have affected Younis Khan’s batting. Younis scored only 73 runs in five innings at an average of 14.60. “Younis has been taking extra pressures of captaincy and that’s showing in his failures as batsman,” Akram said. “He needs to calm down and learn from experience.”Pakistan, however, bounced back to win the fifth ODI, with Kamran Akmal scoring an unbeaten 116, a result which Alam said would benefit the team greatly. “We were playing for pride and desperately wanted to win this last match,” he said. “We had to win this game, there was no doubt about that, and I think this win will go long way in making this team a stronger unit.”Australia, riding on Shane Watson’s century, posted 250 in the final game, but were unable to defend the total. Their captain Michael Clarke said the defeat had taken “some gloss off our series win”. “We wanted to win this one too, and with 250 on the board we had enough, but we didn’t execute well enough with the ball and let ourselves down with the fielding. Throughout the series our fielding probably stands out [as needing] improvement so we are certainly focused on it and training hard.”Australia had rested Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey and Mitchell Johnson for this series while Brett Lee joined the squad from South Africa but not fit enough to play. Clarke was pleased with the way in which the younger members of the team made use of their opportunity.”Callum [Ferguson] really put his hand up in all the games he played, Dougie [Bollinger] got five-for the other day, so the win is a compliment to the way cricket is played in Australia, [and a] compliment to the selectors.”Clarke will return to Australia for a break but his team-mates will remain in the UAE for a Twenty20 international against Pakistan in Dubai on May 7.

That’s the way to dispatch a minnow side. It was sadly in keeping with Scotland’s desperate year that they should be the first team to depart the ICC World Twenty20, but if it is of any consolation to Gavin Hamilton and his men (and it won’t be), the fully focussed South Africans would have inflicted the same fate on both Netherlands, who stunned England on Friday, and Ireland, who have their own golden opportunity against Bangladesh tomorrow.South Africa are among the favourites for this tournament, and today they produced a myriad of reasons why. There was the calm but firm authority of their 87-run opening stand between Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis; the brutality of their lower-order power-hitting, with AB de Villiers hurtling along at more than two runs per ball, and then the pace and variety of a bowling attack, spearheaded by Dale Steyn, that looks as though it has a performer for all occasions. It was, as Smith confirmed after a 130-run victory which stands as the second-heaviest ever inflicted in Twenty20 internationals, a very satisfactory way to warm up for greater challenges. “Our first week of preparation went very well for us,” he said. “We achieved everything out of those early warm-up games that we wanted to, and today was about controlling our early-tournament nerves, setting a platform and playing to our intensity, and to our game. I’m very happy we did that today.”If South Africa had at any stage in the build-up to this match been tempted to let their guard drop, then the sight of the Dutch triumph at Lord’s on Friday, coupled with Scotland’s own spirited batting display in a seven-over slugfest on Saturday, meant they were fully clued up come the start of play.”I think we had a few more nerves after watching the first few days of the tournament, with a few unpredictable results, I guess,” said Smith. “We knew today was important to send a message and we did that.”No mini-period was more emphatic than the final five overs of South Africa’s innings, in which 83 runs were spanked by de Villiers and Albie Morkel, while the ferocity of their subsequent bowling performance meant Scotland lost their first four wickets in 15 deliveries.”The first six and last five overs are crucial scoring areas,” said Smith, “especially if you have AB at the crease and some good finishers to come in you’re always going to get a good total. I thought we set the game up well today, and AB and Albie down the bottom finished it beautifully.”I guess it’s about finding a balance between the touch players and the power players, but The Oval is a fast-scoring ground, so if you can get in here, you can take the game away because the outfield is so quick.”de Villiers, the Man of the Match, agreed with that assessment, having taken a relatively sedate six deliveries to score his first six runs. “I did take a few balls to get in, but the credit goes to the openers for giving us a foundation to go and express ourselves,” he said. “We had good fun out there today, the boundaries are short at one end of the ground, so we took advantage of that.”As Scotland exit the competition, South Africa have confirmed their place in the final eight, alongside New Zealand, whom they play at Lord’s on Tuesday. “We’ve played against New Zealand enough to know they are tough competitors, and on their day they can challenge and beat anybody,” said Smith. “We will respect them as we would any opponent.”Respect is the key in this format, in which any side is capable of mounting a challenge given half a chance. Today, however, Scotland weren’t offered even the slenderest foothold in the contest. “The big focus for us is playing to our intensity, and playing our game,” said Smith. “If we can do that, we can challenge any team in this tournament.”
Crystal Palace will be aiming to maintain their four-game unbeaten run when they travel to the Etihad Stadium this afternoon to take on an in-form Manchester City side.
The Eagles have made a solid start to life under new manager Patrick Vieira, securing a memorable 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the opening weeks of the campaign, but their inability to build on that result will be a growing concern.
A defeat against high-flying Liverpool and four consecutive draws have followed that win over Spurs, providing hope and frustration in equal measure to those associated with the south London club.
However, the solution to Palace’s problems may be a rather simple one. Vieira has been unable to call upon all of the impressive attacking weapons at his disposal in the early stages of his Selhurst Park tenure.
Creative talent Eberechi Eze is still recovering from a serious Achilles injury, while talisman Wilfried Zaha has been unable to feature from the off over the last couple of weeks due to an illness. The Ivory Coast international played no part in the capital club’s trip to Arsenal but did come off the bench last time out as Vieira went in search of a winning goal.
Today, the Frenchman must unleash Zaha from the first whistle. City will be one of Palace’s toughest opponents of the campaign, and his presence on the pitch could be vital.
Previous Palace manager Roy Hodgson outlined just how important the £40.5m-rated wizard is to the Eagles, comparing him to the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Harry Kane.
“Many teams have a player of that type, a player who is a talisman and a player upon whom the team depends on,” Hodgson said back in 2018.
“Pep [Guardiola], [Mauricio] Pochettino and Jose [Mourinho] have to answer the same question about their Kanes, De Bruynes and Hazards. We are lucky to have a game-changer like they have.”
Indeed, Zaha’s importance to Palace has arguably grown since then. The 28-year-old hit a career-best 11 Premier League goals last season and has already bagged two goals this time around.
Therefore, Vieira has to select his most dangerous attacker from the start against City, with Zaha undoubtedly capable of causing Pep Guardiola’s charges some damage when on his best form.
