Newcastle could acquire a dream upgrade on Fabian Schar by signing Vitesse starlet Danilho Doekhi.

What’s the story?

The Magpies have endured another difficult season in the Premier League defensively, conceding 56 goals in their 34 games thus far – only Southampton, and the bottom two sides West Brom and Sheffield United have let in more.

Now, Dutch publication De Telegraaf claim that Steve Bruce’s side are keen on reinforcing the centre of defence this summer, and are eyeing up a potential move for 22-year-old Doekhi.

The report adds that the centre-back has just one year left on his contract with Vitesse, and that the Eredivisie side will be under pressure to sell him unless he signs an extension at the club.

Upgrade on Fabian Schar

After getting himself sent off after coming on as a substitute against Arsenal, Fabian Schar pretty much underlined the problems the Magpies have faced at the back this season – some poor, reckless individual mistakes, and collectively disorganised too (the fact only three sides have conceded more than them in the Premier League is evidence of that).

But in Doekhi, Bruce could find someone who is as solid as a rock, and has got the defensive discipline that they desperately need at the back.

Vitesse manager Thomas Letsch dubbed him “one of the best defenders” in the league, and waxed lyrical about the kind of progress he has made at the club, saying: “Danilho is a class player, a great player, for us. He already played fantastic last year and this season he has performed every game at the highest level. Danilho makes almost no mistakes and is an absolute team player, a very calm player. Although he can be emotional, but he has developed in that area as well.”

And, when you compare Doekhi’s stats to Schar’s this season, then you can see why the Magpies are very interested in signing him this summer.

As per Whoscored, the 6 foot 3 Dutchman averages far more tackles and interceptions per game than Schar, and commits less fouls and gets dribbled past far few times than the Newcastle man too.

That’s not to mention the 22-year-old is also superior when it comes to his work on the ball, which has always been lauded as one of Schar’s biggest strengths. Doekhi averages more passes and at a better accuracy compared to the Swiss ace, and appears to be the kind of ball-playing centre-back who should fit in well in the modern game.

Doekhi is just stronger across the board compared to Schar, and given that he “makes almost no mistakes” too, appears like the sort of central defender Newcastle need.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are eyeing a summer move for this Championship star…

ولكن في الموسم المقبل، أصبحت أنظار برشلونة تتجه نحو لاعب تشيلسي المعار من أتلتيكو مدريد والمنبوذ، ساؤول نيجيز، حتى نهاية يونيو وذلك بحسب ما ذكرت صحيفة “سبورت” الكتالونية.

مستقبل ساؤول نيجيز ضبابي بسبب عدم مشاركته مع تشيلسي تحت قيادة، توماس توخيل، الذي لا يبدو اللاعب ضمن خططه مع وجود جورجينيو، ماتيو كوفاسيتش ونجولو كانتي في وسط الملعب.

ولذلك هناك اهتمام من طرف نادي برشلونة لضمه في الميركاتو الصيفي المقبل، واستغلال صفقة أنطوان جريزمان مع أتلتيكو مدريد والذي سيضطر الأخير إلى دفع 40 مليون يورو في حالة رغبته في استمرار الفرنسي نهائيًا.

Former Tottenham captain Graham Roberts has exclusively told Football FanCast that Tanguy Ndombele has failed to live up to his price-tag in north London.

The Frenchman joined Spurs in a £63m deal from Lyon in the summer of 2019 but struggled with injuries and form, and was restricted to a bit-part role during his first season.

Ndombele was heavily criticised by Jose Mourinho pre-lockdown, having been hauled off at half-time at Turf Moor.

However, that appeared to be a turning point for the midfielder, who has since become a regular for Tottenham this season, making 43 appearances in all competitions, featuring in all-but four of their Premier League games.

But Ndombele has been an unused substitute in Spurs’ previous two matches under Ryan Mason and came under scrutiny from Glenn Hoddle, who said the 23-year-old slows the game down too much and should be nothing more than a squad player.

Despite Ndombele making major strides at the club this term, Roberts told Football FanCast that he agrees with the ex-Tottenham manager:

“I think he’s a good player, don’t get me wrong. But, for me, if you’re that sort of player, Eriksen scored 10-12 goals a season, Ndombele has scored three goals in two seasons. That isn’t good enough.

“If you paid whatever Tottenham did, they should be getting 10 goals a season from midfield. I agree with Glenn, he tries to do too many tricks. Dele Alli is a far better player.”

According to the Daily Express, the Irons are among the Premier League teams interested in the enigmatic West Bromwich Albion sensation in the upcoming transfer window.

This season, the former Sporting Lisbon dynamo has delivered ten goals and five assists in the league, also managing to be a more creative influence than Lingard, managing double the number of key passes (1.8).

Only Harry Kane has contributed to a higher proportion of his team’s goals than Pereira this campaign.

Jermaine Jenas alluded to his quality after a particularly starring role against Aston Villa earlier in the campaign, he said: “He’s just silky. When he’s on it, he’s just got that lovely left-foot, (tucked) his penalty away, the delivery into the box for set-pieces was brilliant, and he wanted to showcase his skills.”

Just think back to the pair of free-kicks against Manchester United and Crystal Palace – truly sensational. He was a “genius” and that’s exactly what the Baggies star has been called in the past.

Pereira may set GSB back a good £30m or so but he will pay that back in abundance with his sheer attacking and creative ability. If they do bring in another striker, he could absolutely thrive with Pereira sat behind him.

Could there be another enigma like Payet at the London Stadium? Only time will tell.

ويقع الزمالك في المجموعة الرابعة رفقة كل من (بترو أتلتيكو وساجرادا الأنجوليين، والوداد المغربي).

وافتتح الزمالك مشواره في مجموعته بالتعادل مع بترو أتلتيكو بهدفين لمثلهما، ثم التعادل مع ساجرادا بدون أهداف، وأخيرًا الهزيمة على يد الوداد على ملعبه بثلاثية مقابل هدف.
