Com Cuca, a expectativa é de que o garoto consiga renascer. Na segunda, o técnico lhe chamou para uma conversa a sós e passou bons minutos dando apoio ao jogador. Nos dois dias seguintes, ele foi usado como titular no Verdão que ainda busca a primeira vitória com o novo técnico – até agora, foram duas derrotas.

Os próximos dois jogos, portanto, serão decisivos para a sequência do atacante. Gabriel Jesus, seu principal adversário no elenco, está na Seleção sub-23 e volta ao clube depois do jogo contra o Água Santa.

– É importante uma sequência, até por tudo que fiz, estou trabalhando para ter uma oportunidade e aproveitar da melhor forma. Não tenho nem dois jogos (completos) aqui, mas estou feliz, trabalhando no dia a dia, e a conversa com o Cuca foi muito boa – afirmou o atacante.

Nesta noite, o Palmeiras terá três reforços entre os titulares: além de Erik, Edu Dracena e Jean. Embora o clube tenha sido elogiado pelas contratações no fim de ano, nenhuma das oito novidades empolgou até agora. Destes, o atacante é aquele que convive com a maior expectativa.

Para quem chegou ao Verdão falando em disputar os Jogos Olímpicos do Rio de Janeiro pela Seleção Brasileira, o camisa 14 está devendo, assim como o Palmeiras. O jogo no Pacaembu é a esperança de que o Verdão volte aos trilhos e comece a encontrar o caminho com Cuca.

Para Erik, esta é a chance de ele finalmente deslanchar no Alviverde. Após três meses, este pode ser o início da sequência que ele não teve com a antiga comissão técnica.

رفض حازم إمام لاعب الزمالك المعتزل، انتقادات الجماهير للبرتغالي كارلوس كيروش المدير الفني لمنتخب مصر، بسبب اختيارته في قائمة منتخب مصر لكأس أمم إفريقيا 2021.

ويستعد منتخب مصر للمشاركة في كأس الأمم الإفريقية التي ستقام في الكاميرون خلال الفترة ما بين 9 يناير و6 فبراير 2022.

وقال حازم إمام خلال مداخلة هاتفية ببرنامج “ملعب أون تايم” المذاع على قناة “أون تايم سبورتس” عن اختيارات كيروش: “وقت الانتقادات انتهى، الناس لن تتفق على شيء واحد، بالتأكيد القوام الأساسي للمنتخب ينقصه بعض اللاعبين، ولكن إجمالًا القائمة جيدة وتستطيع تحقيق نجاح”.

وأضاف: “هذه وجهة نظر كيروش ويجب أن ندعمه، في نسخة 1998 الناس كلها كانت تهاجمنا وتسبنا ولكن ذهبنا وحصلنا على البطولة”.

ويتواجد منتخب مصر في المجموعة الرابعة إلى جوار نيجيريا والسودان وغينيا بيساو.

وعن مشاركته في انتخابات الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، تحدث: “كنت لا أريد العمل العام ولكن الظروف مختلفة الآن، وتشجعت لخوض انتخابات اتحاد الكرة بسبب وجود رابطة الأندية، لأن هذا سيزيل إشكالية كبيرة من علينا ويجعلنا نركز مع منتخبات الناشئين ولنعد جيل قوي ونخطط للمستقبل”.

وواصل: “أتمنى أن ننجح، وأهم شئ هو العمل على التطوير وأن ندعو محاضرين من خارج مصر من إنجلترا والبرتغال لعمل محاضرات للمدربين في مصر، وإن شاء الله سنقوم أمور جيدة أثناء وجودنا”.

Manchester United could potentially welcome David de Gea back into the first team fold this weekend for their clash with West Ham United.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been spending time back in his home country following the birth of his child. Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed that the stopper is back and is currently self-isolating ahead of a potential return to action.

This could tempt the Norwegian to reintroduce the 30-year-old straight back into the starting line-up in place of Dean Henderson, but the latter is more than deserving of holding onto the number one position.

When comparing the two goalkeepers’ statistics so far throughout the season, it is the former Sheffield United man who easily comes out on top.

According to SofaScore, Henderson has only conceded 0.6 goals per game in the Premier League compared to De Gea’s 1.2 – exactly half. Across the 16 games he has played in all competitions, the Englishman has claimed ten clean sheets.

Whilst that is a small sample size, as De Gea has the same clean sheet tally from 29 appearances, there is also quite a considerable gap between the two keepers’ personal performance levels.

Henderson, rated at £18m, is averaging 3.8 saves per game, whilst his Spanish counterpart is contributing just 2.3 per match in the Premier League – a huge gap.

One defence of De Gea could be that Henderson is slightly error-prone, as evidenced in the recent 1-1 draw against AC Milan in the UEFA Europa League as he flapped at Simon Kjaer’s late header.

However, there isn’t actually that much difference in that respect between the two ‘keepers.

In De Gea’s 337 Premier League appearances, he has committed 14 errors leading to an opposition goal. Meanwhile, Henderson has made two in his 41 appearances in the competition. Should he make as many top-flight appearances as De Gea, this would mean that he would go on to make just 15 at his current rate – a marginal difference.

On paper then, the two stoppers are certainly very similar, with Henderson having had the better 2020/21. Following last week’s 2-0 win over Manchester City, Solskjaer said of the Englishman: “Dean came in and played well and he’s ready.”

It means that there should be no rush to reintroduce the Spaniard and Henderson should remain as United’s last line of defence.

– Fizemos um bom jogo, regular o tempo todo. Sofremos de novo com o desgaste, tivemos um tempo de recuperação pequeno e já precisamos nos reorganizar para jogar este clássico de igual para igual. Acho que fomos um pouco superiores, os números falam – analisou.

Apesar da melhora, Cuca ainda não se empolga. Além de lembrar do início ruim no Verdão, o treinador diz que os jogadores e a torcida são os principais responsáveis pelo bom resultado no Pacaembu.

O Verdão volta a campo nesta quarta-feira para enfrentar o Rosario Central (ARG), pela Copa Libertadores. No fim de semana, encerra a primeira fase do Paulista contra o Mogi Mirim. Egídio e Gabriel Jesus, suspensos, serão desfalques no jogo do Estadual.

Jordan Jones is perhaps putting himself back in Steven Gerrard’s good books with some impressive performances on loan at Sunderland in League One and Ross Wilson should arguably think again about letting him leave Ibrox this summer.

After a breach of the lockdown guidelines in November 2020, both Jones and George Edmundson were given seven-game bans, and were subsequently sent on loan to Sunderland and Derby County respectively.

The 26-year-old winger had made just four appearances in all competitions for Gerrard’s side before the suspension, in which he contributed one goal – an impressive finish in the 5-1 win against Motherwell in September.

However, he has shown his class with Lee Johnson’s side in recent appearances, with two goals and three assists in his last six league appearances, including an impressive display in their most recent league victory against fellow promotion hopefuls Portsmouth.

Considering his contract with Rangers is not set to expire until 2023, Ross Wilson may well be licking his lips at the prospect of Jones’ value increasing as a result of his form in England, but you could argue that he now deserves another chance to show what he can do with the Ibrox outfit.

Although he has struggled for the Gers since signing on a free transfer from Kilmarnock, with just one goal and two assists in 19 appearances, perhaps this loan at Sunderland was just what he needed to boost his confidence ahead of next season.

If it were not for the winger’s mistake regarding the lockdown rules, you would imagine that Gerrard would have kept him in and around the first-team this season, having labelled him a “real threat” earlier in the season.

Therefore, if his impressive form continues at Sunderland, then he should definitely be given a chance in the Rangers first-team set up next season, even if Wilson feels that it is the ideal time to cash in on him this summer.

وأضاف: “يسعد الناس دائمًا بمكان وجودهم، الناس لديهم روتينهم أو منطقة راحتهم أو أي شيء يريدون تسميته، لا يحبون التغيير، هذا ما نحن عليه كبشر”.

وتابع: “الناس يعانون لسنوات لأنهم لا يريدون التغيير، لكن بالنسبة لي، كنت بحاجة إلى التغيير، لقد ضحيت بكل ما بوسعي لمجرد البقاء في أوروبا”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “عندما أتذكر قراري، أدرك كما كانت خطوة سيئة، لم أكن ألعب كثيرًا ولذلك شعرت بأنني بحاجة إلى الرحيل، لأن أمامك خيارين أن تثبت وجهة نظر الناس في أن تشيلسي كانوا على حق في وضعي على مقاعد البدلاء أو إثبات خطأهم وكنت بحاجة لذلك”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “أعطيت كل شيء، كل حياتي كانت فقط من أجل كرة القدم”.

Capitão na partida contra o Coritiba, na última terça-feira, Marcelo foi o herói da noite. O zagueiro botafoguense marcou o gol alvinegro e garantiu o Sub-20 do Glorioso na decisão do Campeonato Brasileiro da categoria, após empatar em 1 a 1 com os paranaenses na Arena da Ilha do Governador.

O zagueiro de 20 anos, que chegou a treinar com os profissionais e viajar com o grupo em certos jogos da temporada – onde um dos zagueiros do elenco estavam indisponíveis – comemorou a importância do seu gol e admitiu que foi o mais importante da sua curta carreira até o momento:

– Foi um momento especial. O gol mais importante até hoje na minha carreira. Lembro que estava acompanhando a bola e quando vi que ela vinha em cima de mim me preparei para chutá-la. Acabei pegando certo e tirei bem do goleiro. O gol nos deu mais tranquilidade no jogo e conseguimos chegar ao nosso objetivo, que era ir para a final – comentou o zagueiro Marcelo.

Steve Bruce has confirmed that Newcastle United will be without top scorer Callum Wilson against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday night due to his hamstring injury.

The 10-goal forward has missed the Magpies’ last five Premier League fixtures as a result of the issue sustained late in the first half of February’s 3-2 win at home to Southampton.

United are yet to secure all three points without the ex-Bournemouth forward leading the line at some stage, with defeats to Chelsea and Manchester United followed by draws with Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa.

Newcastle’s form in recent weeks has seen the Tynesiders let slip a nine-point lead over the relegation zone to now sit just two points clear of 18th-placed Fulham but holding two games in hand over the Craven Cottage natives.

Bruce would have hoped to have had Wilson available for Saturday’s trip to 16th-placed Brighton, but while the £20m frontman and Allan Saint-Maximin (groin) will both be absent, Miguel Almiron is in contention for a return from a knee injury.

“They’re both back on the grass. We still think with Callum that the international break is at the right time. He’s well into his rehabilitation, he’s back on the grass,” Bruce said on Friday.

“The same goes for Almiron, who trained for the first time yesterday [Thursday], so we’ll see how he is, but things are obviously improving, given the time.

“The same goes with Saint-Maximin, but we know with Saint-Maximin and Callum, in particular, were nasty muscle injuries, which are obviously going to take time. You have to let nature take its course.

“[Almiron]’s got a chance. We’ll see.”

Bruce being without Wilson at the Amex Stadium on Saturday will see Newcastle face Brighton in a relegation six-pointer without the man responsible for 35% of his team’s 28 goals in the Premier League this season.

Wilson also accounts for 27% of the Toon’s 18 assists, having provided a team-high five in 21 games – only Saint-Maximin (three) has also provided more than two thus far.

Dwight Gayle and Joelinton have each taken on the role of filling in for Wilson since his injury, although neither have found the back of the net in their recent appearances to remain on one goal each in the top flight this term.

Joelinton struck his only effort of the campaign in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in November, some 14 appearances ago, yet impressed Bruce with his overall performance in the right-sided split striker position during last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

“I thought Joelinton, arguably, had his best game in a Newcastle shirt,” Bruce said, via quotes shared by The Shields Gazette. “I thought he was terrific on the night. But, of course, a striker has to top it off by scoring a goal. He understands that, but his overall performance was very, very good. I thought he led the line very, very well.”

As Joelinton is now expected to once again start in place of Wilson against Brighton, Bruce must see the £40m Brazilian step up and end his long-running dry spell if Newcastle are to seal a crucial win in their fight for Premier League survival.
