أكد عمرو السولية، لاعب الأهلي، أن الجيل الحالي من لاعبي الفريق يسعى لكتابة تاريخ مشرف في بطولة كأس العالم للأندية، مؤكدا أهمية تحقيق نتيجة إيجابية في مباراة الدحيل ‏القطري.

وقال السولية في تصريحات للموقع الرسمي: “التواجد في كأس العالم للأندية كان حلمًا نتطلع للوصول إليه، وقد تحقق بعد ‏التتويج بدوري أبطال إفريقيا، وهدفنا الآن إضافة إنجاز جديد للنادي الأهلي، ونتطلع لكتابة تاريخ جديد لنا كلاعبين خلال المشاركة السادسة للنادي في هذه البطولة العالمية”.‏

وأضاف: “تركيزنا الآن على مباراة الدحيل القطري فقط، ولا نتحدث عن أي شيء آخر؛ من أجل ‏تحقيق هدفنا الرئيسي؛ وهو تحقيق نتيجة إيجابية في المباراة وتخطي المواجهة الأولى في كأس العالم للأندية بنجاح”.

وواصل: “ليس من الطبيعي الحديث عن الخطوة الثانية قبل تخطي الأولى، ومن ثم أي ‏حديث عن لقاء بايرن ميونخ أمر غير مقبول بالنسبة لنا، ونمتلك من الخبرات ما يكفي للتعامل ‏مع مثل هذه الأمور”.‏

وأكمل: “درسنا فريق الدحيل القطري بشكل جيد، ورصدنا نقاط القوة والضعف في صفوفه، ‏ولدينا رغبة قوية في الفوز؛ من أجل الوصول إلى أبعد نقطة في مونديال الأندية”.‏

استكمل: “دعم جماهير الأهلي لنا لحظة الوصول إلى مطار الدوحة، وأيضا أمام فندق ‏الإقامة أمر ليس بجديد على جماهيرنا التي تبقى دائما خير داعم لنا في كل المناسبات”.‏

أردف: “دعم جماهير الأهلي يصل إلينا بشكل مستمر، ويمنحنا دوافع قوية؛ من أجل تحقيق ‏الانتصارات”.

أشار: “الضغوط التي يتعرض لها اللاعبون دائمًا بعد الفوز بالبطولات ‏أمر يزيد من المسئولية الملقاة على عاتقهم، ويرفع من مستوى طموحاتهم؛ لتحقيق المزيد من ‏البطولات”.

Liverpool eye Allen

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Linfield’s Charlie Allen according to the Belfast Telegraph. A number of Premier League clubs have also been credited with an interest in the 15-year-old, including Manchester United and Tottenham.

Arsenal agree Ceballos loan

Dani Ceballos had previously been linked with a move to Tottenham – his current club Real Madrid and Spurs were said to be in talks – but it has now emerged that Arsenal have seemingly won the race for the former Real Betis man. BBC Sport is reporting that the Gunners and Los Merengues have reached an agreement in regards to the loan signing of the Spain U21 international, who will spend one year with the Emirates outfit. Since joining Real in 2017, the 22-year-old has played 56 games for the 13-time European champions and has scored five goals. The youngster impressed at the U21 European Championships earlier this summer and Unai Emery will be hoping he can reproduce such form in the Premier League next season.

Newcastle push ahead for Saint-Maximin

With Steve Bruce now confirmed as Newcastle boss, the Toon can push ahead with transfers as they prepare their squad for the new season. A deal for Hoffenheim’s Joelinton is reportedly close, and the North-East club are also pushing ahead in their attempt to sign Nice’s Allan Saint-Maximin. According to French outlet L’Equipe, Nice are willing to let the winger leave for €25m (£22.5m), but this means that Newcastle will need to go above the €15m (£13.5m) they have so far indicated they will pay. The 22-year-old will also need to win over the new boss, the report adds, who has questions over the France youth international’s attitude. Some of the feedback Bruce has received in regards to the player is not particularly positive.

United eye Dybala

Manchester United are currently dealing with the constant speculation surrounding both Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku. One, if not both, could leave this summer, and they will need to be replaced by the Red Devils should they do so. According to The Daily Mail, their potential successor has already been identified: Paulo Dybala. The Argentina international’s current club, Juventus, are willing to sell the 25-year-old this summer, but only if United reach their valuation, which is said to be between £70m and £90m. If a club matches that price tag, the Old Lady would be willing to talk. In 182 games for Juve, the former Palermo forward has scored 78 goals and has won nine trophies.

أعلن نادي أياكس المُنافس في بطولة الدوري الهولندي الممتاز، أنّ الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم “يويفا”، قرر إيقاف حارس مرماه الدولي الكاميروني بسبب تعاطي المُنشطات.

وأوضح أياكس، أنّ هيئة الانضباط التابعة للاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم، قررت إيقاف أونانا 12 شهرًا، بعدما تعاطى موادًا يُحظر الاتحاد تناولها.

وأكد العملاق الهولندي أن الإيقاف ساري المفعول اعتبارًا من اليوم و”ينطبق على جميع أنشطة كرة القدم على الصعيدين الوطني والدولي”.

ومن جانبها ذكرت صحيفة “إندبندنت” البريطانية، أنّه تم اكتشاف مادة فوروسيميد في “بول” الكاميروني لذا تقرر إيقافه.

وأشار أياكس إلى أنّ النادي سيقدم استئنافًا على قرار الاتحاد الأوروبي، في محكمة التحكيم الرياضية (كاس).

وعلّق إدوين فان دير سار، المدير الرياضي على الأمر قائلًا: “هذه نكسة رهيبة لأندريه نفسه ولكن بالتأكيد لنا كناد”.

وأضاف: “أندريه حارس مرمى كبير، أثبت جدارته مع أياكس لسنوات ويحظى بشعبية كبيرة بين الجماهير”.

The jury is well and truly out on Leeds ahead of the upcoming season.

Fans have already voiced their concerns, particularly with the defence and ahead of a campaign which should have been full of excitement after Marcelo Bielsa signed a new deal, there is a degree of negativity surrounding Elland Road.

For the Whites, they will likely be one of the frontrunners again for promotion but in many senses, that is already under threat, especially if you consider their summer activity.

It’s not been an easy ride for the Championship club who have seen Pontus Jansson leave whilst there have also been murmurs that the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Kemar Roofe could also depart.

An injury to the latter may put that in doubt but proceedings just seem to have been going from bad to worse.

It’s been a strange summer, one in which Bielsa met up in Australia for their tour late after naming just 16 players in his squad, breaking the team into two.

But, if the Argentine isn’t careful, all of this negativity could carry into the new season.

The biggest problem, however, has been in terms of the lack of incomings, something that the manager and top officials at the club are proving to be extremely short-sighted in.

The fact of the matter is that Bielsa is misplacing his trust this summer and it could cause Leeds problems once the campaign gets underway in just under a week.

The former Marseille boss is reportedly a huge fan of Ben White but it’s important to factor in that he’s never played at this level before.

It’s wrong, therefore, to think that he can act as a replacement for Jansson and the fact they only have him and Gaetano Berardi to partner Liam Cooper is a huge concern.

But it’s also in attack where faith has been misplaced.

In simple terms, Bielsa is wrong to assume Leeds can get through the season with what they have.

More targets should have been pursued this summer and that’s evident now that Roofe has been injured.

His ankle issue has left Patrick Bamford as the main striker, a player who missed 20 matches himself last season.

It’s admirable that the 64-year-old has so much faith in the crop of players that took him to the play-offs last term but it could also get him into serious bother.

وأضاف: “نحن نتحدث عن بطل دوري أبطال إفريقيا، يتواجد هنا عن جدارة واستحقاق، وقدم مستوى جيدًا خلال المباراتين الماضيتين”.

وأردف: “كنا نسعى لرؤية بايرن وبالميراس في النهائي باعتباري برازيلي، لكن هذه هي كرة القدم، يحدث فيها الكثير من الأشياء غير المتوقعة”.

Former Crystal Palace striker Neil Shipperley has praised Roy Hodgson for the job he has done with the Eagles and urged fans to be realistic in regards to what the club can achieve.

What did he say?

Hodgson joined Palace in September 2017 following the sacking of Frank De Boer and led the Selhurst Park outfit to an 11th placed finish in his debut season, which was then followed by 12th last time out.

When asked how he feels the former England boss has done, Shipperley told Football FanCast, “I think he’s done a great job, a really good job with what he’s been given. We haven’t really spent much money and if we don’t spend any money he’s going to have his work cut out again.”

The 44-year-old former England U21 international also explained that he believes the fans expect too much of Hodgson, adding, “You have to be realistic and not all fans are realistic. You have to actually analyse what’s gone on here. We’re not spending any money and I don’t think Roy is recruiting any of the players; it’s down to Dougie Freedman and that’s out of his hands. You’ve got to be careful what you wish for because I think he’s got the best out of these players.”

More investment needed

When De Boer was relieved of his duties in 2017, Palace looked in real trouble. They had lost each of their first four league games without scoring a goal and sat rock bottom of the Premier League table. Things did not immediately get better under the new boss, but they grabbed their first win – and points – of the campaign against Chelsea on October 14th and then went from strength to strength.

Indeed, the club have not spent much money since Hodgson arrived – nobody spent less than the paltry £10.67m they shelled out last season, whilst they have parted with more cash than just one club in the top flight this summer as well – and so he must be applauded for the work he has done by leading them to survival relatively comfortably in each of the past two terms.

Having control over transfers appears to be seldom seen in the Premier League nowadays, but that doesn’t mean that clubs aren’t signing new players. Having received £45m from Manchester United for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, there should be money to spend this summer. With the increasing financial power of all clubs in England’s highest division, it is unlikely that Palace will be able to once again get away with failing to strengthen their squad. Whilst Hodgson may have done well until now, Freedman and the fans should not expect it to continue much longer without more investment.

Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has admitted to the press that star striker Lyle Taylor’s ‘head has been turned’ after the club reportedly rejected a £4m offer from Brentford for the player’s services.

According to London News Online, the 29-year-old was subjected to many bids by London rivals Brentford on Thursday’s deadline, but owner Roland Duchatelet snubbed them all.

With Taylor now into the final year of his contract, coupled with Charlton’s well-documented financial problems, a conclusion to this saga is crucial for the Addicks both financially and on the pitch.

The report goes on to state that Bowyer understands that the club are unable to put together a wage package that matches his stature and importance to the club due to the strict spending controls while Duchatelet looks to flog the club.

Speaking to South London Press (via London News Online), Bowyer said: “The player has got to want to sign a deal.

“The hardest thing now is his head has been turned by a very good contract offer by Brentford.

“We ain’t offering what Brentford are offering, we ain’t ever going to offer what Brentford are offering. But it is not just Brentford. There was another club interested in him but they didn’t want to pay the money – so they didn’t even make an offer. But we know they were interested in him.

“The most important thing is he is here and scoring goals.

“Of course we would like to tie him down – that’s blatantly obvious. But unfortunately, as everyone knows, money talks. For Lyle it is a difficult situation.

“We will be making him an improved offer, that’s for sure, then it is down to Lyle whether he wants to sign it. We have got a budget, that’s just the way it is.”

After Charlton’s and Lyle Taylor’s fantastic start to the Championship, you can already tell how paramount he is to this side. With Charlton sitting in the promotion spots after two games, his two goals and assist have been vital in their wins over Blackburn and Stoke respectively.

Since joining the club, he has been prolific: 27 goals in 47 games (Transfermarkt) for the Addicks is why Brentford are knocking at the door.

Even though Charlton have had a perfect start to life in the second-tier, they are still to be considered one of the worst teams on paper in the Championship – this Telegraph pre-season guide considers them ‘relegation candidates’.

This could leave Charlton with a catch 22 situation with Taylor depending on the situation come January. His goals could provide Charlton with what they need to stay up – which, in turn, would provide the club with more money – or, the club could cash in on Taylor while they can in January to ensure that he does not leave the club for free – though, similarly, without his goals Charlton could be sent back to League One, causing a whole new set of financial problems.

It’s obviously hugely negative for Charlton that Taylor’s head has been turned. The club will find it very difficult to keep him in January unless a takeover has happened, as the club simply needs the money.

On the contrary, if somehow Charlton keep up this magnificent form and find themselves around the top six, then Taylor might be willing to give it one last crack with them to see where they can go.

Ultimately, though, with Taylor being offered a huge increase in his wages, you cannot blame the 29-year-old for wanting to earn more money and to join a side more likely to reach the Premier League.
