According to reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee on Twitter, the club is ‘monitoring’ Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente who is expected to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the month as things stand.

What’s the word, then?

The Spanish forward’s contract expires this summer and, despite Spurs reportedly having the option to sign him for another season extension, they appear to have decided to pass up that opportunity meaning he will be released on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old has spent two seasons with Mauricio Pochettino and has registered a record of 13 goals in 66 appearances for the north London club.

His contribution during the last few months of the 2018/19 season was pivotal in their Champions League run as he netted the winning goal in their Champions League quarter-final tie with Manchester City and played a part in Lucas Moura’s third goal against Ajax which sent them to Madrid.

A worrying signing for West Ham fans?

Andy Carroll was recently released at the London Stadium, while Javier Hernandez is also being touted with a move away.

So, the Hammers do suddenly seem in need of another striker to bolster their squad.

However, after the signing of Spanish playmaker Pablo Fornals last week, the link to a mid-30s target man way past the prime years of his career is a far less progressive move.

A big-name marquee striker making the move to east London immediately following the 23-year-old former Villareal man’s arrival would send a real message that West Ham mean business this season.

Instead, a transfer like Llorente would feel like another misstep from a club who have had a torrid record of signing forwards over the past decade or so – Ilan, Mido and Enner Valencia to name just three.

Whether the deal goes ahead is yet unknown, but it would be an extremely questionable one from a club notorious for abstract signings.

ووضع الجهاز الفني للفريق الأول، برنامجا بدنيا وتأهيليا خاصا للاعبين على هامش المران، وقام بيدرو مدرب الأحمال بالفريق، باصطحاب بعض الأدوات من الجيمانزيوم، أدى خلالها اللاعبون بعض التدريبات البدنية القوية.

وعقب ذلك أدى اللاعبون بعض الإطالات والرشاقة والمرونة، بجانب بعض تدريبات الكرة، وذلك تحت إشراف باتشيكو المدير الفني ومدحت عبدالهادي المدرب العام.

ومنح الجهاز الفني للفريق اللاعب محمود حمدي الونش راحة من التدريبات الجماعية اليوم.

وكان اللاعب قد عاد للانتظام في التدريبات الجماعية للفريق مؤخرا بعد تعافيه من فيروس كورونا.

ويؤدي محمد أوناجم ومحمد أشرف “روقا” ثنائي الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي الزمالك، حصة علاجية وتأهيلية، بجيمانيزيوم النادي.

يأتي ذلك وفقا لبرنامج موضوع للثنائي بسبب الإصابات التي يعانيان منها، استعدادا للعودة للتدريبات خلال الفترة المقبلة.

ويستعد الزمالك لمواجهة نظيره المقاولون العرب يوم السبت المقبل بالجولة الأولى من بطولة الدوري الممتاز.

Lots of Southampton fans have come out in support of Sofiane Boufal in a bid to ensure he remains at the club next season.

The attacker came on as a substitute in Morocco’s 1-0 win over Namibia on Sunday and impressed, managing an impressive three shots, six dribbles and 51 touches in just 33 minutes on the pitch.

The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Celta Vigo, looked to have had his future called into question following the acquisition of Moussa Djenepo, as well as reported interest in Francois Kamano.

It was a dismal season for the 5 ft 9 star as he scored just three goals in 25 La Liga appearances for the Spanish side, and he returns to the south coast with no more pedigree than when he left.

Before joining Celta Vigo, Boufal fell out with former Saints boss Mark Hughes after he reportedly refused to warm-up when he was left on the bench in a game against Chelsea.

And now, after a poor campaign last time out, Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl may be left wondering whether he is worth the hassle given he does have multiple attacking options to choose from.

الوضع الاقتصادي الصعب الذي يعيشه نادي برشلونة، يجعل وصول إريك جارسيا في ميركاتو الشتاء صعبًا، على الرغم من الجهود الذي يبذلها النادي واللاعب نفسه لكي تتم الصفقة.

Leeds United’s summer transfer window last season was a bit of a disaster. All in all, they brought in six first-team players in Barry Douglas, Patrick Bamford, Jack Harrison, Izzy Brown, Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker. Half of these players didn’t make much of an effect at Elland Road, while some of the others had very slow starts.

In order to have a more successful campaign this time around, United must be more effective in the transfer market, and they seem to be on their way to doing that.

No pre-season

A number of these players were unable to have an immediate impact at Elland Road due to the timing of their signings meaning that they didn’t have a full pre-season with the club to learn Marcelo Bielsa’s system.

Baker, Brown and Blackman appeared in just 13 league games between them, while Bamford and Harrison had a very slow start, with the former scoring only one goal before December, and the latter contributing to just one goal before 2019.

Bielsa is a coach whose style will be unfamiliar to a number of new arrivals, so it is vital for the Argentine to have a lengthy pre-season with his players before they can be effective for his team. Leeds left it late last summer, and by July 15th they had made only one signing, until Blackman became their second addition.

Different this time

After a year of working with the 61-year-old, it seems that Victor Orta has learnt his lesson and he is getting his work done early.

Jack Harrison, Ben White and Liam McCarron have already signed for the club, and as many as four new signings could join this week with the transfers of Helder Costa, Rafa Mujica and the return of Jack Clarke all expected to be finalised.

First-team training only resumed last week for the Whites, so these new arrivals won’t have missed much.

This time last year Bielsa was implementing fresh ideas into a group of players who he had never managed, so any latecomers would have missed vitally important training sessions, but due to the fact the Whites are getting their business done early this time around that shouldn’t be the case.

Former Rangers favourite Barry Ferguson doesn’t think fans need to worry about Steven Gerrard leaving the club anytime soon, writing in his Daily Record column.

What’s he said?

After Frank Lampard’s big leap from Derby County to Chelsea, Ferguson says it has reminded some around Ibrox that Gerrard is a Liverpool legend, in a similar way Lampard is to the Blues, and could one day make a stunning move to Anfield as manager.

However, before that happens, he expects that the Gers boss will be eager to make his current club as competitive as possible before entertaining a switch.

The fans in the video below had some very strong words for Michel Platini who was detained over alleged corruption this week…

Writing for The Daily Record, the Rangers legend said:

“I’ve bumped into a lot of punters recently and they’re all saying much the same thing. The only dark cloud on the horizon is the prospect of Gerrard doing a Lampard on them. But I think they can relax for a while as Klopp has a few years left in him yet.

“Also, Gerrard won’t want to move on until he has achieved what he set out to do when he took this job on. You can tell when you listen to the guy he is as desperate to get Rangers back to the top of the Scottish game as any of the diehards in the stands.

“So what he has to do now is lead the club to some cup finals and make Rangers properly competitive in the title race by taking it down to the wire.”

Trophies needed

Clearly the prospect of Jurgen Klopp leaving Anfield anytime soon is ludicrous having just won the UEFA Champions League, but in the long-term Gerrard is likely to be closely associated to the Reds given his legendary playing career at the club.

While Lampard didn’t achieve much of note at Derby before his move to Chelsea, any inexperienced manager’s CV is bolstered by trophies more than anything and that will be Gerrard’s big aim at Rangers.

The Ibrox outfit haven’t won a major honour since 2011 and with arch-rivals Celtic continuing to win treble after treble, the pressure will be on to bring success back to Govan next season.

Until the Rangers boss delivers on that, any talk of him moving to the Premier League is very premature.

Out-of-favour Southampton centre-back Wesley Hoedt may have hoped a shot at redemption was on the cards after he was named in the 26-man squad for the pre-season trip to Austria last week, but manager Ralph Hasenhuttl made his stance on the Dutchman perfectly clear at the weekend.

On the chalkboard

It’s fair to say that the 25-year-old has never really been popular among the St Mary’s faithful following his performances on the pitch at the heart of the south coast outfit’s defence – he scored two own goals alone in the first half of the 2018/19 season.

The six-time Netherlands international made the bench for the first two matches of Hasenhuttl’s reign in December 2018, before being left out of the squad entirely prior to joining Celta Vigo on loan in January for the remainder of the campaign.

Things didn’t go well for him there either – including being sent off on his debut for the La Liga outfit – so it was something of a surprise to see him make the cut for the trip to Austria with the Saints manager clearly not a fan.

Still out of favour

Hoedt may have been on the plane, but he should be under no illusions as to where he stands at St Mary’s following the friendly against SCR Altach on Sunday.

الشوط الأول

انتهى شوط المباراة الأول، بالتعادل السلبي بين الفريقين، حيث فشل هجوم الريدز من هز شباك الحارس فابيانسكي على مدار الـ45 دقيقة الأولى.

محمد صلاح كاد أنّ يسجل الهدف الأول، في الدقيقة 22، بضربة رأسية رائعة، ولكن كرة المصري مرّت أعلى مرمى أصحاب الأرض.

وبعدها بدقيقة، كادت أنّ تتلقى شباك الريدز، الهدف الأول، بعد تسديدة من فورناس ولكن روبرتسون أبعد الكرة من على خط المرمى.

وقبل نهاية الشوط، رواغ صلاح مدافعي الهامرز، ثم سدد الكرة ولكن حارس مرمى أصحاب الأرض أمسك بالكرة.

الشوط الثاني

مع بداية الشوط الثاني، دخل ليفربول المباراة بشكل ضاغط من أجل أنّ يُسجل هدف مُبكر وهو ما تحقق بالفعل في الدقيقة 57، عبر أقدام محمد صلاح، حيث جاء الهدف بعد تمريرة من كورتيس جونز، تسلمها صلاح، رواغ دفاع أصحاب الأرض، ثم أطلق تسديدة قوية رائعة سكنت شباك حارس وست هام.
