As per reports from Spain, there has been an update on West Ham United’s transfer pursuit of Real Madrid playmaker Isco.

While a lot could depend on the result of their quest for Champions League football, there has been another transfer update out of West Ham, this time involving 38-cap Spain international Isco.
The Latest: GSB willing to offer Isco great terms…
According to reports from Spain, West Ham are one of the four teams ‘fighting’ to sign the Galacticos midfielder who is set to leave on a free at the end of this season.
It is believed that the club, and by extension owners GSB, ‘would offer’ Isco a ‘good contract’, the possibility of playing in the Premier League and a guaranteed starting place under Moyes, something that the player himself ‘is looking for’.
The Verdict: Right move?
Once valued at £100m by Real Madrid, it is debatable whether Isco is exactly what Moyes needs at West Ham right now.
Cutting a bit-part figure under Carlo Ancelotti this season, the ex-Malaga star would also probably have to take a pay cut on his rumoured £210,000-per-week wages to join the Irons at the end of the current campaign.

By comparison, long-time target Jesse Lingard will also be available as a free agent and could be a better option given his Premier League experience and the fact that he is already proven under Moyes, under whom he had a superb loan spell this time last year.

For a long time, Heung-min Son has been one of the standout performers for the club and to some extent he still is. After all, he leads the way for goals scored (ten) and creativity (five assists, 45 key passes) in the Premier League.
However, his recent form has been rather questionable and whilst it could be attributed to burnout having played so many matches this season (only three players have managed more minutes), at 29 years of age, it could be time to think of the future amid some pretty poor showings.
For instance, in the defeat to Burnley, he failed to register a single shot on target, whilst against Championship outfit Middlesbrough, none of his four attempts on target resulted in a shot as Spurs crashed out of the FA Cup in extra time.
It was a performance that Press Association journalist Jonathan Veal described as “shocking” on social media at the end of the 90 minutes.
This is likely just a blip for the South Korean sensation but he isn’t going to be around forever and now that there’s a new man in town, his place isn’t as secure as it once was.
Swedish successor
“Gimme, gimme, gimme a ginger from Sweden, Number 21, His name is Kulusevski.” is what the Lilywhites faithful have already been singing around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It’s fair to suggest that Dejan Kulusevski has made an instant impact at the club ever since he arrived from Juventus on deadline day.
The 21-year-old has already made seven appearances in the past month, in which three have been starts in the Premier League, where he has provided two goals and one assist, via Transfermarkt.
That’s a direct goal contribution once every 111 minutes. If he keeps that up, then that’s on par with Son over the course of his near seven-year Spurs career.
The similarities do not stop there either.
Kulusevski has recently been lauded as a “dangerous” player who’s just like the 29-year-old by journalist Paul Brown.
“He’s like Son, very good at bombing forward on the break. He’s not afraid to take people on and he’ll have a shot or two,” he told GIVEMESPORT. “He’s looked quite dangerous since he’s been there, and I think he’s going to be a goal threat and will score goals.”

Whilst initially joining on an 18-month loan, Spurs do have a £29.2m option to buy and that will undoubtedly be triggered should he continue to light it up this season.
Conte has even described the £27m-rated Sweden international as a “perfect player” for Spurs to The Athletic, whilst Italian Football expert Nima Tavallaey Roodsari once dubbed him a “monster”.
If anyone’s going to dethrone Son, then Kulusevski seems like a pretty likely candidate and on recent form alone, it’s the latter who deserves a place in Conte’s starting XI.

Ange Postecoglou’s side ran out 3-0 winners at Tannadice and will now face Rangers in the semi-final at Hampden Park, looking to take another step towards a domestic treble.
The Celtic manager, who labelled the Portuguese winger as ‘unbelievable’, said the 22-year-old was missing due to a knock, while Liel Abada also missed out due to illness.

While Johnston is not exactly a guaranteed starter for Postecoglou, the reports that he now appears to have recovered from his injury will nevertheless come as a huge boost to the Celtic manager and the Parkhead fan base.

Marsch now has Cooper, Leeds’ best-rated centre-back, as per WhoScored, available to play, so it could make sense to hand Struijk a rest. According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Englishman’s injury is ‘worse than first feared’ after fracturing a bone in his foot against Liverpool earlier this month.
West Ham had confirmed that the winger suffered ‘no significant damage’ following the injury on 6 March but it now appears as though Bowen will have to spend more time on the sidelines.
Supporters will be gutted
Having scored 12 goals and assisted 11 in 39 appearances this season, the Englishman is certainly up there as a seriously strong contender for West Ham’s player of the year.
This campaign has seen the 25-year-old playmaker develop excellently, building on last season’s tally of eight goals and six assists.
In fact, it was recently revealed to The Athletic by David Moyes that Bowen looked likely to have received his first-ever senior England call-up had he not sustained his injury.
The Scotsman said: “I hope we’ve got England internationals (at West Ham). We’ve got Declan Rice at the moment. With a bit of luck we might have had Jarrod Bowen if it hadn’t been for injury.”
Whilst his record in front of goal is his best in claret and blue to date with two months left of the season, most of those goals have come in 2022.
Since the turn of the year, Bowen’s form has been electric, scoring seven and assisting one in all competitions.
The major concern for Moyes and the West Ham faithful will be how much longer they’re going to be without their best goal output for with vital games fast approaching after the international break.

Instead of moving to Wearside, he sealed a transfer to Turkish giants Galatasaray. The giant kept 15 clean sheets in 37 appearances before moving back to the MLS with Colombus Crew, playing 45 times and keeping 13 clean sheets for the American outfit.
He then found his way to England as he secured a switch to Liverpool in 1997. This suggests that Sunderland did not get in quickly enough as soon as he was eligible for a work permit, as their interest in 1995 indicates that they would have had an advantage over their rivals as they already did their homework on the goalkeeper and had spoken with him previously to agree the £600k transfer.
Friedel endured a mixed time with the Reds as he kept eight shutouts in 31 outings across three seasons. Blackburn snapped him up from Anfield in 2000 and this is where his career exploded as he enjoyed a sublime spell with the Lancashire side. He played a whopping 355 matches for the club and kept the opposition out 118 times in what was a magnificent spell at Ewood Park.
The USA international ended his career with Aston Villa and Tottenham, making 198 appearances between the two clubs – keeping 55 shutouts.
Mark Bosnich previously lavished the veteran with praise, saying: “I remember talking to my then-agent Graham Smith and saying ‘this boy is really talented.’
“He then arrived at Liverpool, had a bit of a tough time, but since then his form for Blackburn and Villa has been absolutely outstanding.

When Chelsea announced the signing of Gittens in the summer, there was some genuine excitement in the fanbase, and understandably so.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly why the youngster has been in such poor form, but when watching him, his ability to beat players on the ball has disappeared, as has his ability to make the right decision in dangerous areas.

This combination has seen him score just once and provide five assists in 20 appearances.
That might not sound too bad, but it’s important to note that three of his goal involvements have come in the League Cup and the other three have come against Ajax, Burnley and Leeds United.
The most worrying performance of his short Blues career came on Tuesday night, when, against League One Cardiff, he failed to create anything of note, ending the game without a successful dribble or shot on target.
In all, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to argue with one analyst’s claim that he’s been a “pointless signing.”
However, and worryingly for Chelsea, there is another player they signed in the summer who has arguably been even more pointless.
The Chelsea signing more pointless than Gittens
Of all the signings Chelsea made in the summer, the one that is increasingly feeling the most pointless is Facundo Buonanotte.
Now, to be clear, the youngster is a talented footballer and someone who could have a bright future ahead of him.
After all, he produced nine goal involvements in 35 appearances for Leicester City last season and has been described as having a “left foot made of gold” by talent scout Jacek Kulig.
However, he was signed on a season-long loan with no option or obligation to buy him at the end of the campaign, and, simply put, the few minutes he’s getting would surely be better given to the club’s many impressive academy talents.

Moreover, Ecuadorian wonderkid Kendry Paez was sent out on loan to Strasbourg in the summer, so why not just keep him and forget about bringing the Argentine in altogether?
Furthermore, even when he’s played for the team, he hasn’t been all that impressive.
Yes, he did pick up an assist against Cardiff – only his second goal involvement in seven games for the club – but he was really relatively poor in the first half.
For example, he failed in 66% of his dribbles, took just one shot on target, lost the ball 12 times, lost eight of 11 ground duels and was generally deserving of the 6/10 match rating football.london’s Bobby Vincent gave him at full-time.
Ultimately, while Buonanotte is not a terrible player, bringing him in on loan with no option feels even more pointless today than it did in the summer, especially when some of Chelsea’s best academy players surely could have done a job against third-tier Cardiff.
